These are standard on the Vans RV-8 and I carry a spare with me at all times. I have found that the O-Ring will fail from time to time and having these ready to quickly swap allows me to minimize fuel spilling. Then I replace the MS29513-006 O-Ring on the valve I just removed and I have a spare ready to go for the next time.

Purchased to replace original valve on gascolator that constantly leaked. So far, this one is leak free (but has less than 1 hour on the Hobbs, so ...)

These are good valves however, after a number of years, the o-rings begin to leak. They are relatively easy to replace, if you can find new ones. These valves use -006 Viton o-rings, which are hard to find. The smallest Viton 0-rings that A/C Spruce sells are -008, which are too large.

I have 7 of these valves installed in my aircraft. Every single one of them has failed in the three years the aircraft has been flying. I consider t his to be the least reliable piece of equipment on the airplane (by a wide margin). The steel shaft corrodes if its anywhere near the exhaust gas flow. It corrodes if any moisture is present. The o-rings sometimes stick against the valve seat and roll causing them to split (and leak) the next time one attempts to drain fuel. In short, this valve is a substandard part and a giant pain in the backside. Spend the extra money to buy the Andair DV-125 (for 1/8 NPT threads) - its stainless, comes with a Viton 0-ring and never seems to fail. It costs more but is a far, far superior product.
