My fuel primer had no resistance when pushing and pulling. The old o-rings were old and dry. The new o-rings were easy to install. You just unscrew the nut on the outside, then pull the plunger out. The rest of the plunger body stays in the dash. After reinstalling the plunger, my primer still did not work. I was lucky to find a tip on an online forum that the check ball could be stuck in the body. They said to pull out the primer very quickly several times to try and break it loose. It worked! After a few fast pulls, the primer works like new.

OMG ! this is the easiest and best $10 you will ever spend. My primer was so stiff, I could barely unlock and pull it out. I read about this kit in a discussion forum, and they said it was so easy and a 10 minute job. Based on that review and the courage to do it, I bought it. If you have NO handy ability at all then have your mechanic show you the first time, but if you are the least bit handy, you can do this. repalce the O rings, clean the interior with acetone, regrease with the provided grease, and OMG it work just like butter. So good. Unbelievable. Highly recommended. Why the hell didnt the last annual do this? So easy.

Havent yet installed this primer overhaul kit in my 172D, but I put the primer overhaul kit in my 150G and it was perfect.

The o-rings were the correct size for a perfect fit. Very good and detailed instructions.

Judging from the squeaking that was eminating from my primer prior to the installation of this kit the primer orings had not been lubricated in many years. With the cold weather, the operation was only getting worse. After the installation of the kit, the primer operation is far easier and no more squeaking. The lubricant that comes with the kit is likely enough for a lifetime supply for re-lubricating it which the instructions recommend on a regular basis.

1965 C 172 F. My primer was dry, rough, and wouldn’t hold prime for start ups. 10 minute installation with this kit, and my primer worked like new again.

This kit was exactly what I needed. For a couple of months, the primer in my C150 seemed to be doing less and less and eventually, it just stopped. The kit was simple enough, just two O-rings that restored the seal and now it works like it was supposed to work. The directions that came with the O-rings were perfect. Thanks

Cessna Cardinal 177B. Found primer with no vacuum/loose before recent flight. Purchased kit after research. Easy installation (30 mins). Primer back to normal operation. Enough o-ring lube for further periodic preventative maintenance. Not everything is expensive to repair!

I havent used this one yet, but I purchased and used one a few years ago for a Cherokee 140. It was very easy to install the o-ring and lube the cylinder. Afterwards it worked like a new one - cylinder filled with fuel and moved smoothly. I periodically lubed the cylinder to keep it moving smoothly. A very cost effective solution that I am sure will work great on my Cessna 182.

I will never be stuck again with a hard starting engine due to poor or no prime. I bought 2 of these kits, installed one and stashed the other in the plane! Good value too!
