Part of Our 1/4 Inch Drive Socket Lineup Our 1/4 inch drive 12-point socket lineup consists of shallow, semi-deep, and deep sockets.  Large, Stamped Markings Markings are permanently impressed into the material by a roll-stamp die Sizes are as large as possible while still being readable along the socket's curved surface  Fully Stepped Shoulders Narrowed diameter stretches to the base of the socket on small sizes. This provides greater reach into tight, recessed areas.   Exterior and Interior Finishes The smooth chrome-plated exterior resists corrosion and wipes clean to a mirror finish The interior is protected against corrosion with chrome plating that is supplemented with a clear coat or painted finish where needed for full coverage  12-Point Socket Opening Get more access positions for multiple types of fasteners.   Prevents Fastener Round-Off Radiused corners prevent fastener round-off by applying force to a fastener's flat sides, rather than its corners.  Secure Drive Tool Engagement Four detent grooves provide a secure connection with the retaining ball of a drive tool.  High Torque Strength Meets a minimum value of 1.3 times the ASME standard for proof torque. Verified by a single-cycle test that applies torque until the specified value is reached without failure or permanent deformation.
