I give this product five stars for form fit and function. The coiled wire that gives the tube its structure is embedded in the wall of the material, not just free-floating in the ID of the tube. Great product so far.

Great quality product, shipped out the day after I placed the order. I was in need of flexible air duct tubing, not for an aircraft but a 50 yr old vintage car I was working on. The only place I could find the correct size I needed was through Aircraft Spruce Co. They had so many size choices in 1/4 inch increments I was amazed.

This time I used the 2ID -8 ducting. I purchased a nominal 3 ft length (quantity 1) to run from the heat muff to the defroster inlet of my Musketeer. As I said in my 2018 review, while the ducting is single layer, the interior wire is embedded in the red stuff rather than just sitting on the interior surface as with the older materials. As such the wire is covered in the red material and does not tend to rust as in the past nor does the wire try to escape the interior. One can still dislodge the wire without ripping the material when prepping the ends for attachment purposes.

A factory stick is 13 feet long and it is good that I did not try to save money and order less. I only had about six inches left over. I figured I needed about 11 ft as that is what I took out but routed the new SCAT a bit differently and less tight so ... I used the -5 one and a quarter inch size for the vent ducting re my Musketeer. Per a previous review, the steel wire is somehow internally covered as well and hence does not spring out at the end - much nicer than previous material I have used.

Thanks: Arrived intact, packaged well via USPS. However, I added a note to cut the two feet into three eight inch pieces. I received one piece 27 inches long and had to cut an eight inch piece. Therell be three inches wasted.

Used it for my 66 Mustang II rack and pinion frontend conversion disc brake cooling. Have the inlet behind the headlights into ABS tubing then clamp the flex duct to the ABS and snake SCAT ducting through the upper wish bone to the disc brake duct bracket and used another stainless steel worm clamp. The duct punctures too easy with a sharp object so I had to use chafe guards where it rubs against anything. Flexes very well steering L/R stop to stop. Ill take brake temp. readings to see if it is working.

Great to deal with quick delivery arrived packaged well, The only negative is the freight cost. Knowing its not in Aircraft Spruces control.

good quality. this duct has the metal embedded on the inside and outside with silicon which is nice because the metal wire inside does not shift. A very nice improvement over the older stuff. Not sure why there is white twine on the outside of the duct. That does not stay in place very well. But overall very satisfied.

This tubings thread wrap is very loose. The scat I replaced had that thread glued down. Other than that, it is fine.

What can I say. Its tubing. I needed it to replace old tubing for the oil/air seprator. The problem was it was on back order for months. I probably should have cancelled the order and contacted another supplier that had it in stock. That is the only problems I have ever had with Spruce is the backorders take forever.

Ducting arrived after a somewhat slow shipping process (UPS Ground). The material is rather thin and tears easily, so I would not purchase this again. Im still looking for a compatible tape to reinforce the ends.

Duct appears to be of good quality, However the description of this isnt correct. The description states that the wire on the inside is visible. It is not visible but rather the wire is coated with the rubber material. This prevents me from pulling some wire out and cut it so that it makes an end without wire that can be clamped to the flange end on the vent.

This is not SCAT equivalent. The reinforcement string is not bonded in place as with real SCAT tubing, so when you cut the tube to length the string immediately unravels and begins to unwind from the tube. Also, the wire coil spacing is larger than real SCAT tubing. I do not recommend this stuff for aircraft.

Was damage in shipment because was packed in same box as oil. Cases of oil crushed some of this hose. Cannot believe the gasket was not damaged . Poor judgement by whoever is packing boxes
