We installed an Electronics International tachometer in a plane that we are rebuilding. We wanted to be certain that dirt couldnt enter through the now unused flex-cable drive so we ordered one of these caps. It is beautifully made and fits great. The only surprise was that EI provides a cap for this purpose. It isnt nearly as nice but would have done the job.

The one we received was made from anodized aluminum. Very nicely manufactured and finished.

This item is perfect for covering tach sensor opening. However based on the price, I was surprised to find it made of plastic.

Item arrived and was as advertised. Good quality and the AS price was the best I could find, and the part/pricing WAS hard to find - everywhere but here at AS. That said, this is a simple part and should not cost $20.00.

Good news: Nice clean way to seal off that tach drive boss on a Lycoming when you are not using it to drive your tachometer. Bad news: its quite expensive for a plastic molded part! It does have an o-ring seal in it to prevent oil leakage and lots of holes to safety-wire it.

$47.50 for 1 cap? $47.50 plus HST and shipping......... Absurd pricing. Fits well but gouging should be illegal!
